HAYNES 25 ( R30605 L605 ) General Introduction
HAYNES 25 Alloy ( R30605) is a cobalt-nickel-chromium-tungsten alloy with excellent high temperature strength and good oxidation resistance, capable of long-term exposure to oxidizing environments up to 1800°F (980°C). And has excellent resistance to vulcanization. It can be manufactured and shaped by conventional techniques and has been used in cast parts. Other attractive properties include excellent resistance to metal abrasion.

HAYNES 25 alloy has good resistance to the oxidizing environment of air and combustion gases and can be used for long-term continuous exposure to temperatures up to 1800°F (980°C). For short exposures, R30605 alloy can be used at higher temperatures. Applications where oxidation resistance is a serious consideration often require newer, stronger materials such as Alloy 230 or HAYNES 188 Alloy. This is especially important at temperatures above 1800°F (980°C).

HAYNES 25 alloy’s combintion of properties makes it suitable for many component applications in the aerospace industry, including components in mature military and commercial gas turbine engines. In modern engines it has been largely replaced by newer materials such as HAYNES 188 alloy, and more recently 230 alloy, which offer improved performance. Another important use of HAYNES 25 alloy is as a bearing material for balls and races.
