Process performance of 00Cr22Ni13Mn5Mo2N

The steel has good cold and hot workability. 00Cr22Ni13Mn5Mo2N can be processed into rods, wires, plates, strips, tubes and other materials. The forging temperature should be controlled at 1175~1230℃. During cold working, the steel has a high tendency to cold work hardening and can be softened by annealing at 1120°C. Due to the high hardness and toughness of this steel, its machinability is more difficult than that of 316, and the requirements for cutting tools are also relatively high.

The steel can be welded relatively easily using conventional welding methods. Welded joints have the same strength as the base metal. The matching welding material W22-13-5 has been designed.

00Cr22Ni13Mn5Mo2N heat treatment

Recrystallization after annealing and cold working: 1065~1120℃, water quenching for thick plates, air cooling for thin plates.
The hardness of this steel cannot be changed by any heat treatment, only by cold deformation.

Main performance characteristics of 00Cr22Ni13Mn5Mo2N

  • The corrosion resistance is better than that of 316L and 317L stainless steel, which can be exposed to the atmospheric environment at sea for a long time. In the quiet seawater environment, its corrosion resistance is slightly better than that of Monel400 alloy.

  • Double the tensile strength of 304 and 316 stainless steel.

  • It will be affected by stress corrosion cracking in hot chloride environment, and the cracking resistance is between 304 and 316.

  • It still maintains excellent mechanical properties at high temperature of 629℃.

  • Good mechanical properties under low temperature conditions, extremely low magnetic permeability.
