Elastic alloy is widely used in the machinery and instrument manufacturing industry as the basic material for making various parts and components. Its main functions in various machinery and instruments are: to absorb vibration and impact energy through deformation, and to ease the vibration of machinery or parts and impact; use the energy stored in its own deformation to control the movement of machinery or parts; realize media isolation, sealing, flexible shaft connection and other functions. It can also use the physical properties of elastic materials such as elasticity, corrosion resistance, magnetic permeability, and electrical conductivity to make instruments and instrument components, and convert physical quantities such as pressure, tension, and temperature into displacements, so as to measure or control these physical quantities.

3J21 (1Cr20Ni16Mo7Co40) is a cobalt-based elastic alloy with excellent comprehensive properties, high elastic modulus, high elastic limit, and extremely low elastic aftereffect (0.02%). After cold working, its tensile strength Rm is as high as 2950Mpa. At the same time, it also has high fatigue life, high hardness, high wear resistance, low notch sensitivity, and the working temperature is as high as 400-500 °C. It is mainly used to make shafts, tension wires, special bearings, and elastic components that require high elastic sensitivity.
