CoCrMo alloy (cobalt chromium molybdenum) is a kind of cobalt-based alloy, and also a kind of commonly known as Stellite alloy. It is a kind of cobalt-based alloy that can resist wear and corrosion. Cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloys are basically divided into two categories: one is CoCrMo alloys, which are usually cast products, and the other is CoNiCrMo alloys, which are usually precision machined by (hot) forging. Cast CoCrMo alloys have been used in dentistry for decades and are currently used to make artificial joints, and forged CoNiCrMo alloys are used to make heavy-duty joints such as knees and hips. However, as a joint implant material, CoCrMo alloy will release Co, Cr, Ni and other harmful ions to the human body after being implanted into the human body.
