Monel 400 ball valve sphere manufacturing (HY-industry technical centre)
Recently, HY-Industry’s completed Monel 400 ball valve ball sample has completed all tests and is preparing to send to customers to assemble the ball valve.
Monel ball valve is a valve body, bonnet, valve stem and ball and other main parts are cast or forged from Monel 400, Monel 500 and other Monel alloy materials, used to cut off or connect the hydrofluoric acid medium in the pipeline system Valve. HY-Industry mainly produces the main parts of various alloy ball valves, such as valve seats, valve bodies, valve stems, spheres, etc., and can manufacture forgings and castings according to American and German standards.
Monel ball valve features:
-
Flow resistance is small. The ball valve is one of the fluid resistance of all valves. Even the reduced diameter ball valve, its fluid resistance is quite small.
-
Switch is quick and convenient. As long as the valve body rotates 90°, the ball valve will complete the fully open or fully closed action, which is easy to achieve rapid opening and closing.
-
Good sealing performance. The ball valve seat (seal ring) is generally made of elastic materials such as polytetraethylene, which is easy to ensure the sealing, and the sealing force of the ball valve increases with the increase of the medium pressure.
-
Valve stem is sealed reliably. The valve stem only rotates 90° when the ball valve is opened and closed, so the packing seal of the valve stem is not easy to be damaged, and the sealing force of the inverted seal of the valve stem increases with the increase of medium pressure.
-
Opening and closing of the ball valve can only be rotated by 90°, so it is easy to realize automatic control and remote control. The ball valve can be equipped with electric devices, pneumatic devices, and hydraulic devices.
-
Ball valve channel is flat and smooth, not easy to deposit media, and can be pigged through the ball.
The use of Monel alloy ball valve
Structure of Monel400 alloy is a high-strength single-phase solid solution. It is a corrosion-resistant alloy with a wide range of usage and comprehensive properties. Monel alloy valve has excellent corrosion resistance in and gas medium, and also has excellent corrosion resistance to hot concentrated lye. At the same time, it is resistant to corrosion from neutral solutions, water, seawater, atmosphere, organic compounds, etc. An important feature of this alloy is that it generally does not produce stress corrosion cracks and has good cutting performance.
Corrosion resistance:
Monel alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in fluorine gas, hydrofluoric acid and their derivatives. At the same time, it is more corrosion resistant than copper-based alloys in seawater. Acid medium: Monel400 is corrosion resistant in concentrations less than 85%. Monel400 is one of the few important materials that can withstand hydrofluoric acid. Water corrosion: In most water corrosion conditions, Monel400 alloy not only has excellent corrosion resistance, but also pitting corrosion and stress corrosion are rarely found, and the corrosion rate is less than 0.025mm/a. High temperature corrosion: The higher temperature of Monel400 continuous working in air is generally around 600 ℃, in high temperature steam, the corrosion rate is less than 0.026mm/a. Ammonia: Due to the high nickel content of Monel400 alloy, it can withstand corrosion under anhydrous ammonia and ammoniating conditions below 585℃.
Monel 400 process performance and requirements:
-
Hot working: The annealing temperature should be controlled at 700-900 ℃, and rapid air cooling is recommended to get better corrosion resistance. Time and temperature will directly affect the grain size, and annealing parameters must be carefully formulated.
-
Cold working: cold working should be intermediate annealing. With a high work hardening rate, the cold forming deformation is higher than 5%, and it must be used after stress relief or annealing
