F55, S32760, 1.4501 super duplex stainless steel (marketing department of Shanghai HY Industry Co., Ltd)
F55 is a super duplex stainless steel. “Super” refers to the high alloying of its components. Compared with other duplex stainless steels, the high alloying of super duplex steel mainly refers to high molybdenum and high nitrogen.
The PRE value of F55 exceeds 40. This number is high. As a comparison, the PRE value of 316/316L is below 29, and the PRE value of 2205 is below 38.
PREN=%Cr+3.3×(%Mo+0.5×%W)+16×%N, also known as pitting resistance equivalent, is used to evaluate the ability of stainless steel to resist pitting (pitting) corrosion in a chloride environment. In general, the higher the value, the stronger the resistance to pitting corrosion. When the PREN value exceeds 32, it is considered to be resistant to seawater corrosion.
chemical composition & Standard(wt%)
The similar grades of F55 are 022Cr25Ni7Mo4WCuN (GB) and 1.4501 (German standard). The composition of the national standard is exactly the same as the American standard.
