Because the carbide band saw blade can double the sawing efficiency and sawing area compared with the bi-metal band saw blade, reducing the cost of material sawing and reducing the frequency of replacing the saw blade, it is hard in the field of sawing applications for difficult metals. Alloy band saw blades have become the trend of the times instead of bi-metal band saw blades.

The table below shows the sawing and machining factors for imported hard-to-cut metals such as stainless steel, tool steel, aerospace alloys and titanium alloys. The sawing factor is based on 45 gauge steel, and the percentage of machining efficiency relative to the material is called the sawing factor. The lower the machining factor, the more difficult the material is sawing, and the lower the line speed and sawing efficiency settings. For example, the carbon steel line speed of the processing system is set to 80m/min, the efficiency is 70cm2/min, and the sawing speed of Inconel 718 (GB GH4169) with a machining factor of 12% can only be set to 20m/min, sawing efficiency. Set to about 8cm2/min.
